Does anyone have information on homeschool groups in Santa Barbara?

My sisters kids were home schooled through them. They are Christian based...don't know if that is an issue for you. I know many children that have benefited from SB Homesteaders

Not actually housed at the charter school - they rent space at a church (but are not religiously affilliated obviously).

Olive Grove Charter School - check them out, they used to be only based in Los Olivos, but now they have a branch in Santa Barbara. 805-693-5933

What is a "homeschool group?", I thought homeschooling was done alone, at home. What purpose does the group serve?

All four of our kids went through Olive Grove. They have a very nice program, well structured, and excellent teachers. Even though our kids fought us a bit when we transferred them from mainstream schooling, they did well at Olive Grove and now that they’re a little older, I occasionally get an acknowledgement that it was a better choice for them. They’re kids, so that’s a big deal.
My wife and I noticed a huge (positive) difference in their personalities within 4 – 6 months of pulling them out of public school.

125, Homeschooled students need to be exposed to other people so that they learn socialization skills and don't develop into loners who might not interview well, or function normally, in the world of higher education and business hiring. Also, homeschoolers get together to have enough participants for activities like singing and instrumental.
