Shoreline Dr Accident

There has been an accident on Shoreline Drive, at the western end of the park. One lane is blocked, traffic
is slowed, does not look like serious injuries. One car is being towed. This is the second accident on this
block in two days. Yesterday a woman with her dog in her lap drove her car into a parked mail truck. Her
car was towed.

Did the dog cause the accident in yesterday's fender bender? Was it a lap dog or a larger dog like a labrador or german shepherd? Just curious at the omission of such relevant details since dogs are notorious for wanting to divert cars they are riding in towards mail carriers.... and motorcycles.

there's no bends, curves, blind corners or merge lanes. how can anyone possibly cause an accident on a 4 lane road that's essentially straight as an arrow with a 25mph speed limit.

It's a two lane road, but I still don't get how you hit a mail truck

Dogs on laps are worse than cell phones.... If I was a LEO I'd ticket everyone... And I mean the driver not the dog!

They should duct tape the dog to her face and make her walk across the crosswalk to see how dangerous it can be

Was at shoreline, watched it happen..the dog was not a lap dog about the size of a collie give or take. If talking on the phone, eating, breathing thinking or blinking is illegal than so should the labs on laps while driving. What hell, you can hump yor dog when you get home, just focus on the road people!!!!!

@873P: good one! And I don't think the size of the dog matters, but that it was loose in the car and distracted the driver. That accident happened just west of the curve (yes, there is a curve). My guess is she was driving too fast, as do most of the drivers on this road. There have been deaths on this road, and many, many accidents. Please slow down and pay attention.
