The result of aggressive driving and driving too fast at the merge from three lanes to two. A daily occurrence not only here but at the UCSB exit as well. Please slow down and enjoy the beautiful place we live in and the people that live here. Thank you.

It wasn't in a spot where the lanes merge. It was south bound just before the Patterson exit. But I agree with you on the aggressive driving. And people who think speeding and cutting people off is the thing to do. Sad for those involved because I am sure it's a mess.

Dont think it's just SBCC kids - I watched a woman in a van driving like a maniac up Fairview to pick up her kids at that school opposite the library. But there is a problem with that 3-to-2 lane stretch of the northbound 101 just north of Fairview. Even if you drive at a "reasonable" speed, the traffic often slows down very quickly there and can take you by surprise. Also, love the way northbound drivers who suddenly realize they want to go to UCSB will zoom across traffic lanes to make that exit - lots of near misses there.

Ah yes, Fairview / 101. The geniuses at Caltrans put an on ramp merge at the exact same point of the left lane merge.... so we go from 4 lanes to 2 at the same place... Love these types of idiot designs... even a 10yr old could tell you that this would cause potential issues...

@373 I'm with you. It's the parents driving like maniacs picking up the little ones then going crazy if anyone else puts their little ones in harms way. I live by an elementary. It's crazy. It's the over extended/over scheduled parents.
