Local Band
updated: Feb 20, 2013, 1:00 PM
I'm looking for a local band that is reasonably priced. Music genre's can be
open, it's more about how good they are! Its for a birthday party. I'm open to
reggae, blues, blue grass, country, classic rock, cover bands.

Holdfast Rifle Company is fantastic. Kinda alt-blues-country. Google 'em!

Anthony Ybarra! Ybarra music dot com. You can listen to samples online. He played at our wedding and everyone enjoyed him - he can play solo or with a group. Very reasonably priced.

Try "Bare Feet", an excellent local progressive, reggae, rock band that has many of their own songs, but they also do cover songs. Call Jacob, lead singer / guitarist at 805-345-0860.

To OP - the question is, do you want the band for background music or a more front and center - dancing type of scene? We've got a lot of great bands here. The Rawhides (from the SY Valley) play great country/blues/rock music and covers. The Bomb is a well-known local band that does great covers and fun r&b dance hits. I also love Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan. But if you want something more background music, there are a lot of good guitar players (like the dude that plays at Endless Summer during happy hour!)

Try Doug Giordoni. He is a single singer with a guitar but he is very diverse and entertaining for parties. (805) 252-7751.

I like Tequila Mockingbird. They just recorded a demo of Tainted Love. It is on youtube and it rocks! I would post the link, but we all know what happens then right?

Fossils and Beer30 are fun "bar-type" bands. Flock of Cougars are VERY good and play a ton of covers. Sean Wiggins and Lone Goat are very, very good as well. They play Cold Springs a lot.

a few years back we would always go see a great cover band at the Creekside, I believe they were called "the american whiskey band" it was a handful of young 20 something SB kids. good music and they always put on a good show, but its been a while since Ive seen them play.
