Spring Has Arrived

My husband and I went up to Lake Los Carneros and the UCSB lagoon on Valentine's day. It was a
gorgeous day and saw spring flowers, birds, dogs and while we missed the release of the rehabilitated
swan, we did see it an hour later. Had the pleasure of running into Aquaholic too! And a special treat at
the lagoon, one American White Pelican.
And thought how appropriate the two Pelicans in the last photo forming a heart on Valentine's day!

I envy you your skill with a camera Denise. Those are all beautiful. BUT - I could not resist tagging the two pelicans as Picture of the Day. The photo is perfect and so are they.

Unusual for there to be a White Pelican there. There are many in the Morro Bay bay; I wonder how this one happened to get here.

That's a very rare White pelican. Some are found south in the Bolsa Chica wetlands.

More have been seen at the lagoon this winter. We saw four in Morro Bay this past weekend. Also in Guadalupe. But the most I've seen this winter is at a small park in Santa Maria, James May Park.
