Does the center still have that dismally filthy and tiny tank with the tiny octopus trapped and suffocating in the muck? I won't go there ever again. So sad.

910P, Agree. I've only been there once, but "Center" is a generous name for the place. It seemed cramped, loud, unwelcoming, and stinky. The admission price was ridiculous, and the gift shop was a few shelves of made in china junk. Hardly the environment to provide a healthy setting for the creatures living there or the visitors coming to learn about sea life. Ty likes his name on everything, but he ought to cough up many millions more to get this place right.

Reminds me its time to revisit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Only thing is that it gets so crowded. Weekday, maybe?

Is that the octopus in the 2nd photo? The tank does look kind of small with it spread out like that, but the water looks clear.
