Happy Valentine

Did anyone catch last night's happy face moon set? All we had was a cellphone camera when we spotted it from Stearn's Wharf going down over the hill, but you can still see the "smile" of the crescent moon. There was even a faint star that made it look like a wink in anticipation of Valentine's Day.

I was writing my column with the moon smiling at me through my window, approving that I was staying on task when I was wishing I could be outside stargazing. During New Moon/No Moon, I was out enjoying all my favorite constellations and planet Jupiter over Cambria, and listening to the crashing surf during high tide. "What a wonderful world..."
