What's going on? Firetrucks at courthouse on Santa Barbara Street side - ladders
raised to top floor.

Maintenance. A piece of concrete on a tower was loose - so to prevent it from falling and injuring someone, the wonderful SB Fire Department came with Truck 1 and used it's long reach ladder to remove the lose piece.

@110P is right - one of the stones came loose and was close to falling down onto the lawn/sidewalk below. The Fire Department came to retrieve it before it fell on anyone or anything.
