Feeling lucky to celebrate being single. No flowers, chocolate, dinner, dancing, walk on the beach, snuggling, or confessing what I'm thinking. Enjoy!

Cooking myself a nice dinner and just chilling at the crib. I believe in love. I also believe in being happy. It took me a long time to just accept that I'm a solitary creature (and man, people give you a hard time about it). I hope everyone has a happy V Day doing what they want and just enjoying the day.

Staying at home (I hate crowds, and VDay at restaurants makes me shudder), and buying candy on sale on Friday. :) The bulbs I planted a few months ago just started blooming, so I have flowers, too. :) Yay hyacinths!

My husband and I have 3 kids. We have pretty much made it a family "holiday" instead of a couples one. The last few years we've had heart shaped pizza, some treats, maybe a movie at home. I'm thinking though, may take an hour for just my husband and I and walk on the beach!

Our ritual begins with a Slip-n-Slide and a bottle of Canola oil. Just kidding, staying home and cooking the family a favorite meal, followed by a decadent dessert!

Keeping it simple... going to a sushi dinner with my son and my spouse and then settleing in to snuggle in front of the TV together once the little one is in bed.

Am fairly solitary, ascetic person and have been wondering last few days what treat would I enjoy here tomorrow. Sharing plants and flowers with others brings pleasure - dunno - am content with most I have. Maybe will look forward to basking in some sun in the future. That's a pleasure.

Valentine's Day is such a B.S. holiday. My hubby and I don't need a manufactured day to show our love. Although the slip and slide idea sounds like it could be fun!

Love should be celebrated always so V-day has never been a big deal to me. One of those holidays that is full of unfulfilled expectations for many (mostly women I hate to say). Flying in from Seattle tomorrow night, will pick up a box of See 's at SFO for the guy and then hopefully catch the last sets of the Twilight Drifters at the Creekside. Rockabilly, west coast swing band with local boy Todd Hinton on the upright electric base doing their CD release tour. 8:30 swing lessons before. Lots of fun for singles or couples, plus now the best pizza in town. Should be a great time for a $5 cover. Had I known I would have booked my work trip to return earlier. Come on down.

Yoga!!! Iyengar Yoga Studio of Santa Barbara offers great deals all the time. Tonight if you bring a date to the 5:30pm class only ONE of you pays the $17 fee for a single class! I am dragging my beloved over there - maybe he will decide to do it more often.

Yep, many holidays are "manufactured," (thanks a lot, Hallmark, gift stores and worst of all -- diamond sellers!) but Valentine's Day is an egregious, disgusting case. Pure money-making BS. I need to be told when to love my man, appreciate and gift him?? NO. I have enjoyed some gifts, but I detest the entire idea; it's just not my thing. Don't forget March 14! Google it; I don't want to be deleted. ... It's steak and something else day.

It's the little things... Bacon for breakfast (because we love it, and nothing says hearts like a heart attack). Maybe a walk on the beach later because it's gorgeous. A piece of his favorite candy. Made a Valentine for Mom, the person who loved me first and showed me how to love others.
