Scanner Reports 2-13-13
updated: Feb 13, 2013, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

I haven't got much sleep lately, I threw my back out. Right in the spine I am in so much pain it's horrible pain. I can't move, I can't sleep it's a real pain in the ars!

I counted somewhere around 30 pages on Facebook concerning Chris Dorner. Most of the pages were in support of him and his actions. To some people Chris Dorner is a hero. While I thought there might be a couple nuts that would support his actions I am shocked that there are so many. It's obvious that people have lost faith in the police. I remember the first time I lost faith in the police I was very young it was Christmas Eve 1962. We were having Christmas Dinner at my Uncle John's house; Uncle John was Chief of police in my hometown. All the adults were drinking and pretty toasted the other kids were running around the house, I was just a little kid. My mom got my dinner it was mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey, green beans, and it was scalding hot. Being drunk, my folks judgment was a little off I was too young to realize that then. My mom wanted me to eat my food right away but it was really hot. I tried to eat the food several times each time burning the inside of my mouth. I put the food back on the plate my mom grabbed the spoon loaded it up and shoved it in my mouth. I still remember the food burning the inside of my mouth. I spit it out she started yelling at me drunk as a wicked old skunk. My father came along and told me that if I didn't eat the food right then he would give me a beating I would never forget. Once again my mom shoveled the scalding hot food in my mouth, again I spit it out. My father grabbed me enraged screaming at the top of his lungs. Everyone stopped their partying the kids stopped running around, the adults stopped drinking all eyes were upon this scene you could hear a pin drop. As my father was dragging me out I saw my Uncle John, he was staring at me as if I ruined his party it was obvious I was an abused kid, I was 4 years old. My father was 34 years old 6'3 180 pounds and solid muscle. My Uncle John did not lift a finger, or utter a word to stop my impending doom he looked at me as if I deserved what was coming to me. My father dragged me up the stairs, out the door threw me in the car. Drunk as HELL he drove home yelling at me all the way. He beat me bloody with his fists, he took off his belt and whipped me with that too he beat me for a while I don't know how long.

The next morning my father woke me up I was very sore. My father was telling me that Santa Claus had been there the night before and he bought me presents for being a good boy. I went to climb outta bed and fell on the floor. I still remember that beating just over 50 years ago. My father beat me a few other times also my Uncle John the Chief of Police never got involved. The worse beating the SOB Ever gave me was when he kicked my stomach bursting my appendix I woke up a couple days later with the scum bag abuser crying and apologizing over and over again. By that time I was 8 years old. Bullied in school every day walking on eggs at home and the only time my Uncle John paid any attention to me was when investigating a crime. You see I had found an outlet for my anger and rage and I was well on my way to becoming an unemotional ruthless SOB just like Dear Old Dad. The last time my father beat me up before he died he shoved me down the basement stairs slamming my head into a metal pole and yanked my arm outta socket. Mom took me to the doctor and the doctor called the police. When my head hit the metal pole I was knocked out for a second, had a bump on my head, I was busted up pretty good. The cops knew I had been abused. It was too little, too late. I stuck to my story of falling down the stairs. My father suffered a brain hemorrhage and a stroke a few months later and died he was 42 years old. I think had that not killed him I would have.

At 6 years of age I had my first contact with the police. I broke the law pretty steady after that even though my father beat me he was scared of me because of my increasing anger and rage. There came a time when he beat me and I stopped crying he didn't hit me much after that. I hated the police back then or anyone else that tried to help me. Where the HELL were they when I needed them? They were not there so the HELL with everything, and to HELL with them too! I drank a lot alcohol, made me brave it helped me do things I would never do sober I was a raging alcoholic as a kid and a lawbreaker. There were a few people that came into my life and had an impact of sorts but every time I picked up that bottle everything went to HELL and I knew I would sooner than later.

By the time I got to Santa Barbara at 22 years of age. I had been kicked out of the military twice, been in jail a dozen times, did some juvi time for violent offences and being just plain nuts. I think the Lord Thy Dog had something to do with it all because between AA, Newhouse, Santa Barbara, a couple Santa Barbara cops I started to change. I didn't drink so much anymore and I started having compassion. Once that scrap came into my life all that other scrap took a well-deserved hike. I was still pretty much an emotional wreck for many years but then all the abuse including having been raped kills a person's soul. While I had periods of serenity the constant homicidal thoughts did not leave me until well into my 40's. Yes the Wood Chipper is only a joke but not for Child Molesters and abusers. I have a special place for them. There's a lot of scrap going on in our world today and the last thing we need is more violence. It ain't going to do nobody any good. I know a few of you out there have lost faith in the Police.

I'm sorry I 'm an old long winded old fart in more ways than one but that's just tough. It's Hump Day!

  • Last but SNOT least my house at around 4:30 in the morning yelling screaming coming from behind 211 South Milpas the neighbors tell me there is a big homeless camp back there. I heard the yelling at 4:30am also it was really LOUD I was already awake because I injured my back and have been in constant agony for a couple daze. They called it in first, and then I called to warn the police because that is the area where I heard shots fired the other night. Now I know somewhere in Santa Barbara is a homeless person with a real gun. Anyway the police went back there and saw NO ONE I talked to the Neighbors whom are very stable people SNOT 5150 like me and they told me those people were back there. So they must have just taken off before police responded Neighbors tell me these guys go over the back fence at 211 South Milpas almost every night. The shots I heard were two near Circle K Then behind our property Friday or Saturday Night.
  • There were a couple 459 Burglar alarms going off over night at the Chic-Fil-A restaurant on upper State.

OK That is it outta me. I figured Chris Dorner was going to get it sooner or later did not think it would happen this soon. I still feel that people are losing faith in the police and if you feel like commenting about it I would like to hear what you have to say. The police are welcome to share also. I am sad that Chris Dorner's life ended the way that it did but he really gave the police no choice. Three police officers that had nothing to do with his firing are dead. I find this sort of thing happens a lot with mass killers they don't always get the intended targets. Tuesday was a sad day in California on both sides of the fence. Have a Great Hump Day and Dog Willing We will see you on FRYday. Love Roger

Unfortunately our climate and the tons of services that our city offers will always make this a top destination for the homeless. Too bad the city's generosity doesn't extend to hard working/single parents that struggle just to live paycheck to paycheck but are too responsible to try to go on welfare.

I'm hoping the cop killer is dead. He could have made his point another way and didn't have to kill people and shoot at people that hadn't personally caused him harm. He was NOT a hero, he chose his own destiny and even if he was ousted as a cop because of someone else's sabotage he is still the one that could have changed his future. When you sit around feeling sorry for yourself and blaming others for your failings, it does not do YOU any good or cause THEM any harm. Stuff happens in this life and we don't always get what we want and sometimes we get screwed over... happens to most of us, you just gotta get over it and move forward. Right Roger?

Abusers are always abused kids. One thing abused kids should ask their abuser is "tell me about your childhood mom and dad". I guarantee your dad learned from his dad how to be a bad dad. Newtown Connecticut was abuse driven. If you research child murderers, you'll find evidence it was abuse driven in nearly all cases. I consider myself an abuse expert having married a child abuser. I am divorced now, but have visitation with her kids 3x a week through the courts. Youtube and Facebook are a perfect abuse reporting tool via cell phone video. I encourage all people to post abuse, and to he'll with the abusers feelings of embarrassment.. That Judge in Texas found out the hard way, and rightfully so, just before he was fired! He's now trying to get his job back.
Apologies to abused readers if these words, and especially my pretending to know what you've gone through are painful-harmful

932 didn't you know? That Texas judge got his job back last year, and is judging other cases related to child abuse, even still. Texas gave him the smallest slap on the wrist, because it is within his 'disciplinarian rights' to whip his daughter according to that state. Sickens me. I wonder what a beating she got when he found out she'd posted it on YouTube...

Roger, look up sliding scale acupuncture clinics in Santa Barbara- I know that some will fix you up really cheap if you don't have much money, and I have friends who SWEAR that it can help your back problem. Just a thought.

I lost faith in the cops a long time ago too. But I don't need to share why on here right now.

Completely agree, I have all but entirely lost my faith and respect for cops. Protect and serve, definitely! Of course, they're talking about protecting and serving their own brotherhood nowadays. Look at the response to Dorner - how many murderers with motive to continue on the loose have EVER warranted this level of response? None. I don't feel at all that the police protects the public at the same level. Hell, they even protected themselves at the cost of shooting multiple victims in multiple separate events. Scary.

They ain't all bad, but they sure as hell ain't what they used to be either.

As I see it, there are two legitimate topics of concern: (1) Chris Dormer the murderer and (2) Chris Dormer the victim.

One wanted to see murderer Chris Dormer caught and punished for his crimes, but one knew that he would either die in a firefight or kill himself at the last moment to deprive the police of the pleasure of killing him. In fact, I suspect, the cops purposely set fire to the cabin in which he had holed up, hoping to burn him alive.

From what I have read, Dormer reported a superior officer had repeatedly and viciously kicked a helpless man in the street. The police, as is their usual practice, denied and covered up that (very common) brutality and fired Dormer as part of their retaliation of a "rat."

Dormer's horrific crimes became a starring feature of our culture's usual three-day media fireworks.

The cops' corrupt and criminal behavior goes largely unnoticed and uninvestigated.

Incidentally, who pays for the destruction of that poor woman's cabin?

I think the LAPD is going to buy the poor woman who lost her cottage a pick up truck I hear they are buying a few this week. I like the police I have faith in them but I know many serve their own intrests..They pulled an overkill on Chris Dorner I got acouple relitives that are cops one is a ranger the other Sheriffs depuity. I axed them questions of what they thought about the Dorner case both avoided me..Hee hee..Their are far more brutal killers out there who have mulitated children, raped them, these killers deserve to be Wood Chipped in my book but they spend their lives being supported by the system. If one of these killers were to harm a cops family they would be deader, quicker than Dorner.. Thank You for your comments..I threw my back out chasing Pooh Bear who was driving me crazy one night trying to get out of the house..The little boggers been laughing at me since..
