Fatality Vehicle Accident

At 11:37am, the Santa Barbara County
Fire Department (SBC FD) responded to a vehicle accident, located at 1700 Highway
154. The accident occurred ¾ of a mile south of Highway 154 on an access road that
leads to a rock quarry across from the Bradbury Dam. The property is also known as the
San Lucas Ranch.
SBC FD responded two engines and a battalion chief to the scene. SBCFD was assisted
by the California Highway Patrol and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department.
First arriving firefighters found a big rig with a single trailer that was hauling rock, had
rolled over. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Firefighter-paramedics initiated
CPR but were unable to revive the driver.

Very sad, RIP. If the driver was ejected, they likely weren't wearing a seat belt. :(

The fatal haunting comes in the form of speeding, impaired and distracted drivers. It is a dangerous road, but the accident rate is extreme for the actual road conditions. Sad.

The driver had a heart attack - some of these comments are not nice...be kind always...you don't know the whole story.

He was 70yrs old,lived in SY and had a heart attack on a private road off of 154, NOT on 154

Where did find out he had a heart attack? Seems to me the only one who would know is the driver himself. May he rest in peace.
