At 11:37am, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBC FD) responded to a vehicle accident, located at 1700 Highway 154. The accident occurred ¾ of a mile south of Highway 154 on an access road that leads to a rock quarry across from the Bradbury Dam. The property is also known as the San Lucas Ranch.

SBC FD responded two engines and a battalion chief to the scene. SBCFD was assisted by the California Highway Patrol and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department. First arriving firefighters found a big rig with a single trailer that was hauling rock, had rolled over. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.
