Cox Program Guide Information

For over two months I have noted a discrepancy between the program guide information and the actual
program being shown on Cox cable 1322 and 1323. Finally I decided to check this with the non HD channels
of the same program, 322 and 323, and found that the program guide was correct on the non HD channels. I
contacted Cox about a month ago to bring this to their attention. They checked it out on line, had me
boot my boxes (two with the same symptoms) and finally sent a technician to the house. He could do
nothing about it but suggested that the problem was in Atlanta where the programming information came
from and probably had to do with the contractor whom Cox hired. He seemed intimidated to contact his
superiors to present his diagnosis but did. He said I should wait a few days to see if it improved. It
did not. Now two weeks later I have contacted Cox a number of times and still this persists. I suspect
it is true of all SB Cox receivers. The management seems to have given up on correcting this. They seem
totally deferential to the "contractor" of the services and will do little or nothing to pursue a
solution. Do others have this problem in SB? Has anyone a solution? Besides contacting the Cox service
number is there another contact point that might be effective?

I had to switch to the NON HD channel on one of my channels to record with the DVR. The HD channel has the wrong show at the time slot. Even though it showed the correct show to record.

Cox is your carrier, they only care that you pay your monthly bill. The networks and affiliates provide listing information to get you to tune in so their ratings are high and they can sell advertising. TV schedules are very susceptible to changes and sometimes programming changes faster than the listing service can update. This is not laziness, they do want to provide accurate information and have you tune in.

So it the problem with Cinemax or Cox? Who is responsible for providing programme listings?

For Animal Planet, the TV Guide shown on CH 96, the listing was wrong for about two years. Doesn't matter much now, anyway, that they finally got it synched: I can't stand all the silly Gator guys and that one awful moron who keeps catching the most exotic water animals he can find. Cretin.

OP here. Service is bad and price is high. Thought maybe someone would have advice about how to get through to Cox. Check this out for further info on why we are being messed with by cable: http://vimeo.com/59211984

And here you have another Monopoly. LA gets all kinds of cable stations - SB/Goleta are stuck with Cox. Even the listing in the Newsless Press isn't correct - they say it's Cox's fault - Cox says the paper. Guess Direct TV is our next option.
