February 10, 2013 - Fire In The Sky

Where the hail have you been? If you were caught in our recent hail storm you'd know all about the fun with puns Edhat subscribers had in the comment boards. The short morning rain on Friday was beefed up by tiny ice pellets then slowly faded away, providing a fantastic backdrop for our regular sunset photographers.

That's not all that happened this week. Edhat contributor and local historian Neal Graffy published his book, "Santa Barbara Then and Now," and kicked off his celebrity status at Petrini's with a book signing. In case you missed it he will be hanging out at the best store in town signing more books. Find Neal at Santa Barbara Arts today from 11 am to 3 pm and get your local history book signed by the master.

We have a lot of reading material for you today. Our Cat of the Week is Rockee, the undercover masked cat who most likely solves crime at night. Our Dogs of the Week are Loki, Willow and Beastie, three happy loving dogs. The Non-profit of the Week is Surgical Eye Expeditions International who provide medical, surgical, and educational services to disadvantaged individuals around the world. The Urban Hikers honored Neal's book achievement by focusing on the Upper East's Victorian homes. Lauren attended the Winter Wine Classic, David Powdrell honored local farmers, and Marc Liberts admired California's Zinfandel.

---- Edhat Stuff ----------------------------------
