Perhaps the "unknown" reason had to do with her being elderly, as the noozhawk article states. Had to laugh when I realized the poor woman was still in the car in that photo. Glad she's ok, but maybe they'll reconsider her license after this. (I know, don't assume, but I find it hard to believe her car just lurched forward. Of course, that's exactly what happened not too long ago to some girls in a truck at a DUI stop, so maybe I should shut up.)

This is the second such accident I've seen reported in the news. Either the newsies are picking on elderly drivers for putting their vehicles in unnatural positions or there is an uptick of folks who can't tell the difference between the brake pedal and the gas. Please don't take driving for granted, your life depends on it as well that of loved ones and strangers.

I'd love to see how they stabilized the vehicle. I had to laugh thinking about sitting in my car in that position for an hour. Glad no one was hurt.

You can report elderly drivers to the DMV anonymously. Seems to be form FFDL 10. I'm stunned at how difficult it is to find. Not good; I can't even find a link to post. I drove my parents and didn't have to fight this battle; but had cars hit twice by elderly neighbors who hit two different cars parked in front of our house.
