Scanner Reports 2-6-13
updated: Feb 06, 2013, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Wednesday, Already Humpty Dumpty Day Middle of the Week even I have a wee bit of a Weekend. Wow so many wonderful things were said about me the other day I don't know where to begin. I have been hearing a lot of Medical Emergencies involving difficulty breathing lately and high fevers among other things. It's pretty scary wondering if these Medical emergencies have anything to do with the flu. On Monday early in the morning a call went out for difficulty breathing for one of my neighbors when I got next door he was sitting on the back of his truck. He told me he could not breathe. Engine 2 personnel along with AMR showed up pretty quick and took him away. His son told me later that they think his father might have suffered a heart attack. I found out another friend of mine suffered a stroke last Monday night. When it rains it pours I guess. I have a family member not doing so hot either. I hear those ill medical calls it scares me because I've made it to the age where I'm not in great health either. I know that makes a couple of you happy.

Suicide attempts haven't slowed down either. I thought after the holidays they might, but there are a lot of very depressed people out there with no hope for any future it seems. I've been depressed for a long stretch myself lately. I usually just go through it; it's a way of life for me. I suppose some people might be physically ill and alone and it might be too unbearable for them to go through. I don't know how I would personally feel about that. Either way I cannot judge them for their actions. I have been through many things and have given up many times. Sometimes people have to come back on their own.

Still hearing a lot of "Fall Victim Head Injuries" in the nursing and retirement homes - more than usual. Sad when folks get older and cannot defend themselves. I'm sure not all the falls are abuse as not all the falls are accidents either. Some Squatters out there. Still would be hard to be homeless and know about a vacant home and not enter it illegally even with the threat of going to jail. Especially if you had a friend with you and you wanted to keep them safe. It could get pretty dangerous out on our streets at night, not to mention the cold.

Do you mean a heart, or a stuffed animal or both! I have a stuffed animal for every time my heart was broken. That's a good excuse and I'm sticking to it.

For some time I have seen a woman walking around Fairview and Calle Real. She wears a back pack and carries a toy animal and goes into Starbuck's and stores. Probably the same person.

Don't know who called in the check on the welfare, but she is well known in the area. In addition to her animal, she also talks to people if they talk to her and is perfectly lucid, just more than a little slow. Everyone kind of looks out for her.

I don't think it was wildlife way too many unmarked police cars for a wild animal.

Your going to make me CRY writing stuff like that..I already did once today when I saw Shakey fall backwards in my chair..lol..I think as far as the gal talking to herself someone at the Thrift Store was concerned she had been in there 5 times..They were concerned for her welfare women have a tough time out on the streets they get raped. Sometimes I see a gal sleeping on our proptery I won't say nothing I'd rather she be safe. Maybe someone that knows will volunteer the info about what might have been going on over there..Prehaps it's an ongoing investigation and they don't want to release any info just yet...County usually reports things when they are going on.
