Wow really? That sounds alittle too much too me. Granted the guy burned a flag that wasn't his..What if it would have been his flag? I have been hearing latley of homeless people being committed to hospitals what is up with this I wonder?

I don't think they sent him to a mental hospital as punishment for setting the flag on fire, Roger. They sent him there because there were other reasons why this happened, and clearly he's got other issues besides the fire that informed the decision to send him to a State Hospital.

Roger for this to happen, his defense had to file a motion to declare a doubt of his competency to stand trial. The typical process is the defendant is interviewed by a mental health professional who writes a report that is then sent to the judge. It is in no way a punishment.
