Stolen Vehicle

Today's joy-riding stolen vehicle is a black 2-door Honda Civic taken from the 200 block of Cottage Grove at 7:10 am.

This morning..It has a cracked windsheild on the passanger side, as well as right side damage near the fender plate is California 5PMP207 If you see this vehicle please call 911.

About a half hour before vehicle was taken residents in the area noticed 2 Young men dressed all in black both wearing heavy silver chains around their necks. They were possibly casing the area, They were 18-20 years of age.

974: We've left our cars running in the driveway before - when unloading groceries, grabbing something I forgot from the house, or when my guy needs to let his vehicles run for a bit since they've been sitting. Not that uncommon. Our neighbors do it, too. Not something I'd do with my car on the street, however.

990, ignorance is bliss I suppose. I live in a nice neighborhood and I would never dream of doing something like this, even in my own driveway. You're making yourself a target, only a matter of time!

It is a proven fact that it is unnecessary and polluting to leave any engine idling for over 30 seconds. When you stop in front of a store, in your driveway, at the curb (to make your cell phone calls) and then you leave your engine idling, for your convenience or to keep your car warm or cool, you are a polluter. Turn off your car! Diesel is different, or so I've heard. However,for the non-diesel crowd: I witness my friends and people in all sorts of situations letting their vehicles idle on and on and on. Pollution.

At least 3 vehicles stolen in Goleta and Santa Barbara but propably more..
