updated: Feb 02, 2013, 6:49 PM
I'm looking for good used quality washer and dryer. Any suggestions if any local stores sell used appliances?

Check the appliance repair shops. Often they remove an appliance that needed replacing and refurbish it.

We got a used washer and dryer here a few years ago and they were great - we later sold them when we moved from that place. I looked them up for you: Appliance Warehouse 274 S Fairview Ave, Goleta, CA 93117 (805) 967-9607

Craigslist. Cut out the middle man/men; save yourself enough money to buy lots of organic laundry soap.

Most places that re-sell appliances won't take in major appliances over 5 years old, no matter what condition they are in. I had a perfectly good set in my business that I couldn't take with me when I moved locations. Only DESTINED FOR GRACE thrift store was willing to come and get it, and I'm confident they found someone who needed an inexpensive one.

I went online Warehouse Discount, and found the ones on sale, then called the store on upper State near McDonalds, and they matched the sales price. I bought a NEW washer & dryer 1/2 price, plus free delivery and installation. And, they were rated high on the Consumer Reports list.
