Search Team going into Grainny Field SBSO looking for a wanted man, does anyone know why?

Grainey or Grainny Field is the field located near the Turnpike Vons, boarded to the RR Tracks, to Old San Marcos Road..Sheriff just said We have another victim in the Field? Something is going on either assaults or stabbings don't know what?

I just walked in on this really don't know whats going on how many people attacked or what? Command Post is behind CVS Sounds like they have a suspect in custody..San Marcos is locked down.

They have a suspect and are clearing a campsite..Several officers going to the hospital check on the victim, or victims..

Wow, I live closer to the Lane Farms area, was busy in the house, didn't hear sirens or the helicopters. Crazy! Hope they do have all suspects in custody!

KEYT Has it up it was a stabber got at least two victims one in the eye...People are going crazy stabbing ...I heard an officer say they was looking for another victim.

They got him they did a great job! Some of these other lawenforcement agencies wait these scumbags out not our police they went in there and got him quick. If it wasn't for them alot more people would have been stabbed.

I have no idea if this fella was homeless other than one officer saying that his camp site was being cleared...I guess he was. He has a place to live now.

So now, in addition to gang stabbings, there are homeless stabbings?! Is the City or anyone going to finally do something about this? Looks like I'm going to start having to carry some protection.....thank goodness for my antique whaling harpoon lol.

I'm a San Marcos parent and others and I have received a lot of misinformation on this. Lockdown? Then no lockdown? One stabbing? Multiple stabbings? Fled? Arrest? If my kid is at risk, then I would like to know why and what as a parent I can do. It would be nice if the new Sheriffs department public information specialist had been able to get some information out. I guess I'm at the mercy of Roger. (And Roger, your doing a great job, thanks for keeping concerned parents informed!)

This incident is a county issue because it is not in Goleta or SB, although it is on Santa Barbara Unified land. I'm wondering where the San Marcos parent was getting information from to cause the misinformation.

San Marcos parent here. I got information from the schools but not the county and even the schools seemed confused. I am furious the Sheriff department didn't get information to the parents of the children on lockdown. I hope the Board of Supervisors takes note of how information isn't flowing to concerned parents.

369498P - The people who live in that field don't normally drink water, and what they do drink does not require any spiking. A constant headache for the school district. My theory is that if they completed San Simeon Drive, installed good lighting, and patroled the new street extension regularly, the vermin would find a darker quieter hole to crawl into and the better behaved folks living there would be reminded to keep on their best behavior.

There should be security guards provided by the schools watching those children that cut across the field on the way to and from schools. With the large amount of sex offenders many of them child molesters with no home probably some in that field one can only imagine what those children see..I'd volunteer if I lived close to the area.

Why doesn't the school district sell the parcel to the County or private developers? It could be a great park...as it is now, it's used by the school district as a garbage/storage dump. School Board officials say it might some day be used as a "community garden" or some such thing, so what's the hold up? It's a beautiful piece of property that is being completely wasted by the school district, and is, in fact, endangering students' lives in its current condition of being a make-shift homeless encampment.
