awww. Must be a memorial. I'd guess from the artist or benefactor of a public piece, if it's the only such tile. Not sure what a chair tile is; is it part of a public bench?

Dorsey must be, or was, a very special cat; immortalized by the artist. Where is the bench, I'd like to see it.

Dorsey is not a memorial. The artist's son always wanted a cat so when he installed this piece of public art in the 80s, he added Dorsey for his young son. The bench is on Cabrillo, second bench west of the Visitors' Center at Garden.
