Two Alarm Structure Fire

SANTA BARBARA, Ca. January 30, 2013 – At 10:14 pm on Tuesday, January 29, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD) responded to a residential structure fire, located at 648 Roskilde, in Solvang. SBCFD responded a second alarm that included six engines, an Air/Light Unit, an investigator and two chief officers to the scene. An American Medical Response ambulance was called to stand by.

The fire was investigated by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. As a result of the investigation, the cause of the structure fire that occurred at 648 Roskilde is determined to be related to improper disposal of fire place ashes.

Additionally, no ammunition was found in the residence as initially reported.

At 10:14 pm, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD) responded to a residential structure fire, located at 648 Roskilde, in Solvang. SBCFD responded a second alarm that included six engines, an Air/ Light Unit, an investigator and two chief officers to the scene. An American Medical Response ambulance was called to stand by.

Upon arrival to the scene, firefighters found two garages well involved in fire and immediately threatening a two story condo complex. The fire spread to the exterior and attic of the condo. The fire was knocked down in the garage area first. Firefighters then extinguished the fire in the condo at 10:58 pm.

The Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
