Cuyama Structure Fire

At 10:11am, Santa Barbara County Fire Department
(SBC FD) responded to a structure fire, located at 2011 Foothill Rd. in Cuyama.
SBC FD responded two engines, a water tender, an investigator and a battalion chief to
the scene. SBC FD was assisted by Kern County Fire Department, Santa Maria Fire
Department, and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department.
First arriving firefighters found a fire burning in an approximately 3000 square foot barn /
outbuilding used for storage. The building was one third involved with fire. Firefighters
were able to hold the fire and prevent it from spreading to the remaining portions of the
building. The fire was knocked down at 10:50am. All exposures surrounding the building were protected
by firefighters. Firefighters will continue to mop up the fire for
most of the afternoon. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under
investigation.
