I'm looking for a dent/scratch repair recommendation in town. I have a smallish dent and scratches on an
area approx. 2"x5". No insurance will be involved, but I need someone who can provide reliable and good
quality service. We've taken our truck to Precision in Goleta before, and were not super happy with their
paint job. Looked great at first, but started peeling a year after it was fixed...

There are no good body/repair shops in town. Unless the owner of the shop is an old friend, you're going to get raked over the coals here.

The Dent Experts in Goleta do a great job.
As well as a few other shops like Flores Bros on Salipuedes.
Like any business, a lot of the experience, is on what type of customer you are and how you present yourself to others.
Some people seem to have problems with every business contact they make. But refuse to accept that they are part of the problem.
This is directed at customers and business owners both.

I had an AMAZING experience at Diamond Auto Body, just off of Gutierrez and Milpas. I banged up the side of my car, and Abel put in new panels and painted (which made me so nervous, since paint never matches) -- looks brand new, you can't tell there was ever damage, and the paint is spot-on. Very reasonable price, too. Plus they gave customers little goody bags with snacks to take away. :-) Great customer experience!!

Call Robert DiMauro at 964-1032. Although he's a Honda mechanic, he's always been an honest, inexpensive, & excellent repair person. He has been around forever, & would recommend the best auto repair shop that won't rip you off.

Iron Horse is great. 427 Olive St, near the hardware store on Haley. Iron Horse is new in town, very reasonable (ie cheaper than the others) and you can use an Axxess card for a discount there.

The bottomline is that everyone has an opinion. Fermie is a good guy and Mike (the painter) is very skilled. They are also very reasonable. I agree with some of the posters here when they say Briggs and Diamond... most of the other's I don't.
