I havent seen any with SB's CHP, but there are several apps and websites that have more populated areas like LA. Roger seems like someone who would host the scanner channels on one of those sites

IPhone has apps for local CHP. it's not a live scanner but gives you all the info on calls in the area.

There is an iOS app, "5-0 Radio Free" that does pick up some local law enforcement including Santa Barbara County. AFAIK, it does not pick up CHP. Hopefully someone else will know of one.

I'm more annoyed that the SBPD doesn't publish their stream on radioreference or any other site. Every PD on the central coast does except ours. What is Cam hiding? They all go dark to cell phones whenever they want to hide something anyways...Just one more way Scam has failed SB.

When Nextel wanted to install towers everywhere in SB, they met a lot of resistance. The got it approved by handing out Nextels to all the city employees.

The SBPD (nor any other police department) has nothing to do with what is on Radio Reference dot com... It's all done by people with scanners who feed the web-site.
The most basic (read cheapest) scanner will pick up the CHP ... for now. The CHP has already converted to a partial digital system, but it seems to be only on the longer range repeaters. I have non digital hand held portable scanners that pick up the CHP just fine from SLO to Ventura from my Goleta location
You can buy these for way less than an "I" phone. None of the other SB agencys are digital at this point,
so the same scanner should get the everything in the county that's a public service agency. Scanner Master dot com will recommend one based on the area you live in.

The CHP website (cad chp ca gov) is better than just the audio. Shows you call history and current status.
