Scanner Reports 1-25-13
updated: Jan 25, 2013, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Once again another FRYday and Weekend for THY relaxing pleasure. I spoke to a couple of OLD SCHOOL homeless fellers on Wednesday about camping. One man I have known for many, many years. A horrible experience led him to give up on life and he finally settled on the streets collecting recyclables to support himself NEVER has he received public assistance. In all the years I have known him 30 plus years he has never been hostile to anyone he just makes his few dollars buys tobacco, his beer and hides out. When I spoke to him about warming fires he told me he has never had any reason to light a camp fire he has blankets to keep him warm. The other feller lives off a check his story is he lived in Vegas his home Foreclosed he traveled around via pick-up truck and settled here. He no longer has the truck but carries very little living supplies in a cloth grocery bag; sleeping blanket, small tent, cushion, and candle. This man told me that he gets in the tent when night falls, he lights the candle which warms up the inside of the tent. He explained that a simple .99 Cent candle from the .99 Store will warm up not only the inside of a tent but also an Igloo before he falls off to Sleepy Poo he always puts the candle out. He told me that there is no reason for people to be lighting warming fires especially in wooded areas. Or in Southern California. "It doesn't get that cold here," he said. This guy was irritated that other homeless people were lighting warming fires to stay warm, and cook with. These fires often get out of control when they are left unattended or not put out all the way. Many of the people lighting warming fires are not experienced campers. As our economy continues to go to HELL there will be more homeless people on the streets and more warming fires. Maybe people ought to be educated about camping and warming fires should be restricted only to State Parks where LEGAL camping is allowed.

I don't see a problem with a candle as long as it's not used in a wooded area. On Thursday a warming fire was discovered near State and Calle Real. It was put out with foam by Engine 4. Cal Trans was notified to clean up the mess of the homeless encampment. I don't see anything wrong with homeless people being run out of a camp when they make a mess, that isn't right either, leaving a mess. We are going to have homeless people some are actually from here and they should not have to leave either. Anyone that lives here whether they be homeless or not are required to follow the law. Instead of sentencing a criminal to jail, or prison we should sentence them elsewhere. Give ‘em a little bag to put their underpanties in, give ‘em a few bucks, and a ticket to Washington DC or the location of their choice. Out of Jail You Go. Here's your 200.00 Dollar! There are otter places that send people here so we'll send a few back. Anyway all most of us want is alittle PEACEANDFRIGGENQUIET!!! Would you rather get rid of the GOOD HOMELESS PEOPLE, or The Bad Residents? I would much rather hang out with Good People than Bad People myself. So let's just get rid of the Criminals. Maybe a couple lawyers too!

That's it outta me for now My Great Grand Niece got an award for being Student of the Month the other day. She got an awards certificate her name is Makenna. I'm SNOT Sure of her age but she looks almost exactly like her father when he was around 8 or so. It really is scary that there is this little person that looks exactly like my nephew. Anyway I figure she's 7 or 8 I'm too lazy to look. I got an award certificate also from the Milpas Community Association. It's the first time in my life I ever received an award like this. It's for being a good neighbor. I wrote on their families Facebook that it only took me 55 years to get an award like Makenna did at 7 or 8. However old, she probably tells everyone that I'm her crazy Uncle from California, Oh well at least I'm a good neighbor. Have a Great Weekend. Dog Willing We will see you on Monday. Roger
