The Valley is kicked back in many ways. It is pretty common to hear people hanging out and discussing politics and taxes wherever you go. They are part of the Calif tax exodus. Heard it personally.

a friend of mine sold their house in Lompoc a few months ago, it had a tree in the front yard and the back yard. I also read there are a some houses for sale on the Mesa, some with grass lawns.

I live in the SB area during the summer months, but officially reside just outside of Austin. The culture in Austin is fantastic (especially the live music - the opposite of SB), Mexican food to die for (La Supe Rica? Puh-Leazzze!!), and the winter weather is wonderful. The best part is to be able to have the benefits of living in both places and enjoying the cool summers in Cali. As my accountant says ten times a month: "Don't you d-a-r-e move back to California!!" (full time anyway). It was the be$t deci$ion I've ever made. Yeeeehaaaaaa!!!!
