Really? Jumped over the side of the mountain to avoid talking to Sheriff Deputies?? I know some paranoid folks but this is extreme.

OP here.

Great photos Urban Hikers!

265, Yes, he really jumped the cliff. They stated it was a 5150 over the side of the mountain when requesting FD.

275, I didn't hear what happened before he jumped the cliff. The police unit just calmly asked for search and rescue because he jumped. He said he could hear him moving down there and talking. They did arrest him, as you can see this in pictures 7 and 8. He left in the ambulance to Cottage.

Roger, I heard a call earlier about looking for a person with a head laceration and blood on the head. During the cliff jump call, an officer actually asked about that older call about a male with blood on the head. Not sure if it is related or not but I wondered the same thing.

I'm often awake late at night and have info on late night emergency calls, but don't have posting access that Roger has - so it doesn't show up till the next morning.

Again, great photos UH, and very kind that you blurred his face, especially since the circumstances aren't known.

Thanks, Hikers, for keeping us so well informed; groovy pictures. Mention about wasting tax payers money? How is that? The firefighters are paid whether staying at the station or on a call? Get the facts straight before complaining. Since the guy jumped, do you think he should be left there? Get real!

Wow, the comments on this post sadden me. Everyone is so concerned with punishing this guy for costing the tax payers money and hoping he went to jail. What happened to peoples hearts? No one knows what happened. Could he have possibly been so distraught that he was trying to end his life? What happened to compassion? If I truly thought most people were as heartless as the commentors, I think I might jump off a cliff too. Thank goodness there are so many nice people who are willing to help others, and they would choose a profession such as being a Sherrif, and Firefighter.

Yeah, WHY do they call out the FIRE DEPT for this kind of thing? What a complete and total waste of taxpayer dollars. They could be doing other things. This is ridiculous!
