Jury selection is set to begin later this month in a 2010 murder case in which an Eastside man was savagely beaten to death.

It will be interesting to see if the Parras will show up for trial. Gang-bangers released prior to a murder case? How often does that happen?

The Parra brothers were arrested during operation Gator Roll back in 2007, they were later released. I believe the Parrra brothers have been and still are incarcerated in connection with the death of George Ied.

May justice prevail for Mr. Ied. I feel so terrible for his family! Prayers for the Ied Family. What a horrible way to die beaten and alone. :( SO TRAGIC

The "war on (fill in the blank)" will always win over government and law enforcement because the other side doesn't have rules to play by..our law enforcement and governments do. Sad reality.

One of those involved, Steven Santana, has a profile on the "Write a Prisoner" website. What a catch! First he writes: "I do have tattoos on my chest and on both arms but not below my elbows." And then, to make him even more alluring, he states: "I'm an intellectual". He'll be testifying against the other three, so maybe he is a genius, albeit likely short lived one.
