Police on the 101

Something is going down on the 101 in Santa Barbara. Police trying to apprehend someone. He is holding a stick and trying to jump the median. Police stopped freeway, but just started letting cars through.

I think its very easy to sit behind a computer and speculate about another person on a message board. What's much a harder is to get stand up and give back to your community and make a difference in the lives of other young people ... and that's what Simon did. How about showing a little respect not only for the memory of this young man, but also for the multitude of students, friends, coaches and family who have been devastated by his death. Until we know what happened, I think its just adding more heartache to post negative speculation about him, and that says WAY more about the writer than it does about the victim IMHO.

A high school friend of mine committed suicide the same way. A group of us were hanging out one night everyone had more than a few drinks but everyone was having a good time it seemed, just a mellow get together with friends. At some point during the evening he just wandered off. People figured he got a ride a home or was just out somewhere making a call or something. Then the call came in, he was hit by a car on the 405 freeway. We were all devastated. No indications of anything astray in his life before that point which has made closure on the whole thing even harder even so many years later.

95....yes, kids/adults sometimes make very poor choices, doesn't mean they have "gone bad". Unfortunately sometimes those choices can have very severe consequences. Haven't we all done stupid things at one time or another and look back and think how lucky we were to have survived? Thoughts and prayers with his family.

Sometimes good people make bad choices. Let's not judge this young man, regardless of what may have transpired. To the young man: I did not know you, but RIP. My condolences to the family.

Well said 606 Ed-Hat is sadly turning into the Rants and Raves section like on Craigslist.. I think all the negative people should just create a website especially for themselves and bash everyone all they want.. It is very sad for this young kid who lost his life regardless how it happened.. I am losing a lot of respect for what was once an interesting site to read.. Especially those who bash Roger..He keeps us informed.. I listen to my scanner about as much as him but will not post due to the negativity.. Really sad :(

I really don't mind being bashed but Thanks for Defens me..I don't think it was a suicide. As far as the subject with a stick on the freeway never heard that either.
