Catch A Thief

Thanks to our Nixle audience and partners in the media, the suspect depicted in
our 1/2/13 Catch A Thief media release has been identified. Within hours of its
release Officer Kevin Rhyne received several calls with information about the
suspect's identity. With this information Officer Rhyne was able to identify the
suspect as Anthony Gordon Hentschel, age 32, of Santa Barbara.
On January 10, 2013 SBPD Property Crimes Detectives Greg Hons and Rashun Drayton
contacted Hentschel at his residence on 00 E. Haley Street. Hentschel was
cooperative during the investigation and acknowledged stealing a laptop computer
from a local pawn shop on October 26, 2012. Hentschel was issued a misdemeanor
citation for theft with an arraignment date of February 13, 2013. The stolen
computer was recovered and returned to the victim.

The male subject depicted wearing the gray sport coat and black shirt is the
suspect in the theft of a laptop computer from a pawn shop. [vid]
