Purling Paint is fantastic and they will give you a good deal. Responsible people that do great work, ask for Fernando.

Could the folks making the recommendations include their personal experience with these painters? Thanks.

Please be careful w/ recommendations and referrals. Not that they are all necessarily bad or what not, but I checked out the "Referals" section of Edhat to find out what movers were recommended on here. Meathead Movers was recommended several times and guess what - they wanted not only more than double of what the movers I ultimately chose wanted (for the same work, same time, same insurance, same bonding), but WAY more than any other moving company that was referred or recommended on here. ANd I don't think they are any more careful or more insured, etc. plus they are definitely not local. Take all referrals with a grain of salt and whatever you do, do your own research!!

It all depends on the sq ft being painted and just how much prep work is involved.

We have used Rob Gruenberg at Pacific Paint for 25 years. He has done our outside and inside. His attention to detail and finish work is awesome!

I don't have anyone to recommend, but if/when you choose someone please post back (it'll probably be in the referrals) --- I, too, am looking to have a bathroom painted.

thanks and good luck!

John Bylund painted my entire house and he is excellent. Call him at 805-886-8482. He is licensed (#975089).

Frank Alfino is the best painter around. He's local, licensed and has been a professional painter for over 25 years. He always gives the best price and is honest. He has painted my house anytime I ever needed it. He has stained my wood kitchen cabinets and they look amazing. He is more than just a painter.

If your bathroom was painted when lead paint was used, you might be paying extra due to the issues with abatement.

The cheaper painters might not be so concerned.

Might want to test before you sand and make sure your not creating a bigger issue.

What exactly is "reasonable?" How are these jobs actually priced?

Russell Long painted the inside and the outside of my house. He did a great job for a reasonable price. I'd highly recommend him. 252-7582.

I am sure Professional Women Painters are good, but they came in with highest bid for the trim on my house. $3400. I went with the fellow that had all the same buzz words and got the job done for $1500. Then he turned around and gave me the quote for $700 so yes you do have to shop around. Thank you folks.

Cordero and Alfino are recommended. Russell Long, a nice neighbor, I thought only did bigger jobs.

If the bath is pre-1972, it is sure to have lead paint which was used to prevent mold and mildew. A cheap painter may dry sand this and fill his lungs and your living environment with toxic lead dust. Beware!

Mario Gonzalez . . . THE BEST and reasonable. I don’t have his number handy but it you search through the Edhat archives for painters you’ll see his name (you can contact him through his daughter since English isn’t his first language).

We checked his with people he worked for before hiring him to paint the entire exterior of our house. He is meticulous . . . and a nice guy, too. We’re planning to have him paint the interior of our home. Can’t recommend him highly enough.
