Scanner Reports 1-7-13
updated: Jan 07, 2013, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Well, well, well First Monday of the year. Crime just kept on getting committed after the New Year same as 2012 I guess I thought it might be a little different as far as the suicides go, but I heard one the other day. Not as many as The End of 2012 which is wonderful. I cooked my famous lentil stew on Sunday one of my favorite things to do; Cook then Share. Nothing like a good healthy hot meal on a cold day, and nothing like feeding others. I put a little of everything in it no meat of course that seems to ruin it. I did a Rogers Code Red on Saturday concerning the problems that exist in the 600 Block of State Street near a restaurant there were a lot of comments. One mentioned that they don't like to see business names mentioned concerning these problems. I could understand that no one wants to lose business because of these problems. It seems to me though when people show up at the businesses and are harassed, many of them might leave and never come back anyway. So do we keep trying to hide the problem and do nothing about it or. What? Maybe if we brush it under the Rug it will just go away.

About 8 years ago a small group of young toughs from other states moved in next door to me. There were several of these toughs from different parts of the country they were pretty mean. They would get drunk, wait for a homeless person to come along and beat the HELL out of them. A couple almost died. They harassed the hell out of me and Belinda and when I'd go off on them they would call the police whom always sided with them. They were all very lucky I was sober because it would have got really ugly had I been drinking. I'm not a tough guy when I drink I'm just a crazy guy. Anyway it seemed everyone was jumping me to keep the peace as if it was my fault they moved in. Finally they all got Pit Bulls one of them chased Pooh Bear whom I would die for. He's the funny looking Son I never had. I had a talk with this kid about what I would do to his car and life if his doggy ate my kitty. He moved out a couple days later. I bet comparably these guys that lived next door to me were just as bad as those kids downtown.

I was a jerk when I was a kid but I didn't bully people like this intimidation scrap like "You better give me some money, or were going to make your life miserable because we're young you're old and we can." Yep I am one of the chickens that won't go downtown I could just see myself stroking out in the 600 Block of State Street, or going off grabbing one and ending up in jail myself. It is not worth it to me. Of course if that Chinese all you could eat restaurant was still down there I would go there I loved that place. Buffets Rule for big guys like myself and some of them are worth getting your butt kicked for, or vice versa.
