TruthTeller was sharing a story I don't think it's very nice to be critical. Why does it matter how they got from the train station to the 7-11 anyway? The one thing that stickes in my head is the low amount of police officers we have here I know they can't be everywhere at once. It's sad what has happened to Santa Barbara and equally as sad what has happened to our society. If I was young I might be one of these guys myself as there was really never any place for me a square peg in a round hole.. The only difference between me and them is I always tried to work even though my brain was never up to par and I really could not work a skilled job I always tried to work. If there was no work what then. When I was homeless and I could not find work as a kid I ripped people off too. I ate out of trash cans I did what I had to do to survive. Our society has a whole generation involving thousands of young people on the streets raising Hell where back then it was not even close to the amount of homeless people terrorists or otherwise and there is no end in sight. It reminds me of the movie Escape from New York.

All good and Fine getting the mentally ill help but where is the money going to come from? There are also laws on the books protecting people who are mentally ill into forcable treatment how are we going to get them to accept help? I believe many of the people out there on the street or otterwise had rough childhoods like myself and lost hope years ago. They seem to be only living until they die with no hope of any success in their lives..Many people who were once children were run through the system as unwanted children whos parents either didn't want to be parents once they had them, or the children temporarly incorgable went through the mental health system and were given medications when there was really nothing wrong with them. These medications shut down those children crippling them. After my father passed away I went through that system. My mom stuck me into acouple of those joints the first place Forest Hospital diagnosed me with a mental illness then years later after I was grown and Oh Boy I'll be back breaking news...

Anyway the diagnoses started out a mental illness then years later after I got my records the mental illness was scratched out and replaced with abandoned by parents. All those years I thought I was really mentally ill.Plus the medication I was given and force fed in grape koolaide long before Jonestown ironic in a weird way..There were 5 medications I was given like little lobotomies every friggen day. Not everyone that came through what I did are OK, Many commited suicide, many are in prison, I believe many are homeless on the streets Organazations collecting goverment grants on each one and not providing needed services for those people, my people. You can't just institionalize people for not doing anything wrong.. I wish I had a few million bucks because I'd try and put together some kind of home or place where they could just live in peace even temporarly just help them..If anything we are losing more money to take care of the mentally ill..All that help would be great if the money was there. Some of the state institions of the 40's and 50's had the right idea but there was alot of abuse in those places by demented staff members that should have been patients themselves..Patients murdered by being scalded to death in the showers, sexual abuse and molestations, horrible things like that occured in institions.

Thing is most of those Crusties downtown are not mentally ill they are bullies and thugs..They need Police Officers from Los Angeles from the 40's and 50's to come back and show them a thing or two. These people don't believe in giving anyone else rights they don't deserve them either..

145 Regular officers per a city of 90,000 or so people plus acouple thousand homeless is not enough police officers.. Sometimes they are not that busy then the poo poo hits the fan like yeasterday in the 600 Block of State street. There are alot of routys in this town acouple disturbances like that at the same time I'm surprised there hasn't been more deaths..Maybe there has and no ones talking about it. They show up on calls like that with more officers to take control of a possible sitution Thank Dog it works..If you think the cops are lazy and don't deserve to shoot the scrap after a bust for a few moments when it's no longer busy. Why don't you take a walk in their shoes. Become a reserve officer, or do a ride along..

It is aganist the law to blow smoke in peoples faces weather it be pot or cigarettes or whatever..I think it's also aganist the law to smoke in some areas downtown near the public..

Will I'd rather they send 2 to a call for their own safety..While I know at least 2 were sent to the call on State in front of the habit it sounded to me by the way the officer was yelling for back up that he was the only one there yes they responded quickly but the copper could have got his ars kicked and I'd rather not see that happen. I had that happen to me at the West Side Boys Club once the East Siders made an appearence and I got beat up by 11 or so of them while my partner ran away I was doing security for a party. I don't think it's a waste of money if they send two cars.

@882P Your exacley right Big Difference and how are the police to know that maybe THIS TIME that non aggressive isn't carrying a gun? Happens all the time all over the place a person that has always seems suddenly opens fire killing others..People with no police record whatsoever..I support our local police officers showing up on every single call with two seprate cars..I had an Unicle shot and burned by an arsonist they considered to be mellow. Guy shot him 4 times, of course my Uncle fired back and loaded his weapon into the jerk, the jerk died..
