It was a busy day in our little blue town by the sea. Roger was kept on his toes by a ton of police activity. First, the Santa Barbara County Jail was on
lockdown due to an incident in the exercise yard. Jail officials aren't releasing much information but did state that six inmates were injured. Secondly, a high
speed chase in Goleta lead police all over the area, ending the vehicle pursuit in a mobile home park. The suspect then fled on foot towards the beach and
eventually jumped in the icky slough water with a helicopter following his every move.
In the news: A local transient was arrested for starting a structure fire on the corner of Chapala and Cota Streets, the Sizzler sign was officially taken
down, and the woman struck by the Amtrak train was identified as a Montecito resident. Read these stories and more, below.
