January 4, 2013 - Downtown Smoke

Downtown Santa Barbara was clouded in smoke today from a structural fire on the corner of Cota and Chapala Streets. The building used to be the home to the infamous Montecito Motors but has recently been empty. Per usual, our dedicated Edhat subscribers were the first to break the story and sent Ed photos of the smoky building.

The Urban Hikers followed suit and captured a variety of fantastic photos. Thanks to our prepared firefighters, the fire was contained and luckily no one was reported to be injured.

In the news: An early morning high speed chase that started in SB ended in Ventura County, the City of Santa Barbara is asking residents to conserve water, and Edhat subscribers provided fantastic coverage of the fire downtown. Read these stories and more, below.
