UPDATE: Structure Fire on the corner of Cota and Chapala Streets. The fire was in the building that used to be Montecito Motors. Roger the Scanner Guy
reports the fire is under control.
Is there a fire on lower State?

They have just about got it out. Building owned by DalPozzo. They are now ripping off the roof. My office is across the street. Fire response from City, and Montecito

Montecito Motors was merely a tenant of Dal Pozzo, and they have been out of the building for a couple of years. There have been other tenants since although it has been empty for a few months.

Thanks for the support from the community we are well known in Santa Barbara for being honest hard working and put great value in our reputation. We have been in the process of working with the city to comply with ADA work when this fire started today. It could have been started by a homeless person who has been camping out on the property he has been arrested he has been seen starting fires at the property.

I agree with 789P, once again UH provides excellent coverage. And all the others that posted photos, thanks. I was down at the harbor siting in my truck eating my lunch, and facing the ocean. Missed the whole thing.

That UFO is where the Urban Hikers live they come down during the day and panhandle on State street..So they are always around when the poo poo hits the fan.

Roger - please...discretion. While you and I (and pilot Pete) know about the UFO and our career choice, it's probably best not to BROADCAST this information to the rest of the world. Especially when we're having trouble with our invisible shielding device. And by the way, I noticed that your post didn't mention your UFO, seen at the very top of the photo. It looks like you might want to make some adjustments to your invisible shield too.
