You can hike the Arroyo Burro Trail to the SY River but you'll have to camp and restrict your fire to designated campgrounds and fire rings, though that is subject to change and may not be allowed anymore - the fire that is. Check in with the Santa Barbara Ranger District on Paradise Rd for current conditions and restrictions ... (805) 967-3481

Absolutely double check anything with the SB Ranger Station. They will also give you the latest weather reports and any other information you'll need to have the most fun and the safest trip possible. Often with fires, you'll need a permit anyway so that the rangers can inform you on where and what kind of wood you can collect for a campfire.
