Highway 154 Fatalities Identified

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Coroner Investigators were able to confirm the identity of the two women struck and killed on State Route 154 at Rancho San Marcos Golf Course on December 21/Friday night just before midnight.

The women have been positively identified as Sara Ornelas, a 54 year old resident from the City of Santa Barbara and Barbara Romero, a 49 year old resident from the City of Lompoc. Next of kin have been notified.

Anyone with information about the collision is encouraged to contact the Buellton Office of the California Highway Patrol at 805 688-5551, as they are the primary agency investigating the cause of this incident.
