December 23, 2012 - Holiday Haze

If you're celebrating Christmas this year then you must be aware that it's almost here. If you weren't aware, thank goodness you're reading Edhat for this reminder and you still have two days to go buy a present. Yep that's right, Christmas is just two days away. That's 48 hours or 2,880 minutes left to shop and cook and wrap your way into the holiday home stretch.

We hope the rainy weather isn't putting a damp-er (pun intended) on your Christmas spirit. It might be time to dig out your rain-deer poncho (we can't stop!) and spread the holiday cheer. We live in Santa Barbara after all, a little rain won't affect our holiday hooplah. Before you do that however, check out what we have in store for you with our Sunday Edhat.

Our Cat of the Week is Emma who enjoys napping and watching the neighborhood. Our Dog of the Week is Baxter, a fun and flirty Bichon who is obsessed with stuffed animals. Our Non-Profit of the Week is the Arroyo Hondo Preserve where volunteers schedule guided tours. Our resident wine guy discovers focuses on cupcakes this week and our Teen Voice columnist is busy climbing the social ladder.

---- Edhat Stuff ----------------------------------

WINE: Marc Liberts discovers the perfect pairing for wine, cupcakes.

NON-PROFIT OF THE WEEK: Arroyo Hondo Preserve is owned and managed by The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County. This spectacular nature preserve is open for public exploration on the first full weekend and the third weekend of each month.
