Must have been a slow news day for this to be a story on KEYT. Originally being an Oregonian myself, I bet the newt would rather stay here!

Newts like their skins to be damp. He probably prefers Oregon. I think it's great they found him and had the presence of mind to call WCN. But then again nursery workers are probably extra-alert to the hazards of importing non-native animals into California. I've driven through that part of Oregon; that whole area between Portland and the ocean is tree farms of one sort or another.
