I haven't heard a siren so that's a good sign.

Looks sort of like a left turn onto Carrillo from San Pascual but hard to tell. That's sketchy, you can't turn left there for a reason but people do it all the time. Hope everyone is ok

CalTrans really needs to upgrade the northbound left turn light to have a green light after the turn arrow goes out. This could move more traffic out of the area of the Carrillo accident.

That entire area of Carrillo is terrible. Doesn't even matter what time of day it is, it's always congested.

@581 - sorry, but I've read your post several times and I still can't figure out what you are saying. Are you talking about the Northbound freeway exit, or freeway entrance??? This particular accident had nothing to do with the freeway. It happened on Carrillo and San Pascual.

D8VANILLA - I drive this road many times a day and I understand exactly what 581 is talking about (the green left turn light to get on the NB 101 from Carrillo), but the fact is that when the traffic backs up on Carrillo waiting for the NB 101 lane to clear, the traffic is always just as heavy getting off the NB101 as well as the WB Carrillo traffic, so making the left turn lane green following the green arrow will do nothing except have one car stick his nose partway into the intersection until the light turn red. What we NEED is a $300 "Don't block the box" fine for people that take left turns off the 101 and jam that intersection up. I've sat at that intersection traveling EB on Carrillo for 3 light cycles because several dumazzes aren't paying attention and they block the intersection. Station a beat cop on that corner and he will be able to write dozens of tickets a day. continued.......

....continued.....This accident was most likely someone pulling out of the apartments and trying to turn left onto EB Carrillo. At the wrong time of day, this is a mad dash for your life, as people tend to scream down Carrillo in the hopes of making the light. All of the people and businesses along this streatch of Carrillo...up to and including the gas station, should have signs forbidding then to turn left during certain hours of the day. It is just too damn dangerous.

What is particularly awful is when the westbound MTD bus stops right near the gas station, totally blocking one lane of traffic, since there is no bus pull-out. Rush-hour traffic that is already terrible very quickly backs up all the way to Castillo Street. Since there's no place to install a bus pull-out, I don't think there is even a solution to this.
