People are so sad and misguided sometimes. Ah well, good riddance if the only reason to stop is disagreeing with who is currently president.

So glad that is gone! Though it was enlightening and frightening to know that people actually think like that.

I think I managed to start 2 or 3 of her editorials, but could never finish because my sense of reality was enormously different.

I'm only taking a stab in the dark here, because I don't know anything about this woman - so please humor me. Is this another case of the power of inherited wealth run amok? I am probably wrong and Crawford-Hall might have done something worthwhile and earned her own fortune. If so, I apologize. Wendy McCaw comes to mind as someone who didn't earn her wealth, but certainly lords over the power it provides.

Nancy Crawford Hall inherited lots of land and a big chip on her shoulder. Now that Pappas, her puppet candidate, has to pay back all of Farr's legal fees, etc., Ms. Libertarian is probably going to file for bankruptcy so she shut down the paper before she had to close it down. Her closing rants were very bizarre. She is so full of anger, labeling our country and its government 'rotten to the core'. No, Nancy, you are a paranoid woman who needs a long vacation.

Why is the link down? Probably Nancy threatened to sue Edhat or the Indie if they ran her stories. Like McCaw, she sees herself as 'queen' bee.

My porch chair analysis - She has a lovely solar-powered ranch house overlooking the ocean on the big Island of Hawaii as well as many acres of fine horse country in SYV and many fine horses, cattle, and dogs to go along with it. What happens past her fence line angers and saddens her, and her influence is waning. Find comfort, Nancy.

I, too, will miss the local stories. As for the editorializing by the owner, that was her right as newspaper owner. Readers could choose to read or not. Those celebrating clearly don't want those living in the Santa Ynez Valley to know what's going on in their neighborhood, except perhaps via the Chumash casino press releases.

Interesting how so many posters here are quick to vilify Ms. Hall and her newspaper in posts far beyond the rants they accuse her of having written. The paper was a very good source of information irrespective of editorial opinion and was one of the few news sources willing to expose the scandalous "Chumash" gambling casino scam and the crime wave it has brought to the Valley community. Other media have been co-opted by heavy advertising monies from the gambling casino and the faux "tribe and tribal government". Between their gambling money and political pay-off they make Ms. Crawford was still not constrained by the fear of being called politically incorrect or submitting to the "race card threats" they make to silence politicians and other cowering media outlets which prevents the truth from being told.

She's willing to spend up to $600K to accuse Doreen Farr of voter fraud but apparently a few K for worker healthcare is going to be the straw that broke the camel's back. I think her priorities are misplaced, and that's putting it nicely. Now if we can just get Wendy McCaw to retire, we'll be in a lot better shape!

291P, the link I posted, in the sixth post down, works. 409, it does not appear that any rant here exceeds the ones I've seen of Ms. Hall's. In addition, she often made little sense; her writing is very difficult to follow and understand. 434, thank you for clearly pointing out the incredible irony of her stance. Happy holidays to her employees. At least they had a bit of notice.
