December 16, 2012 - Holiday Happenings

With Christmas only nine days away, people are primping and prepping for the big day. FedEx and UPS are busy helping Santa with his deliveries, kids are counting down the minutes, and offices are rushing to get their work done before having a few days off (if you're lucky!). The holiday spirit can be felt on State Street with the crisp air, hot chocolates and shopping bags everywhere you look. Have you spotted Santa around town? Send in a picture if you have!

On a deeper note, we'd like to take a moment to address the horrific tragedy in Connecticut. It's been a rough week for America and many of us are still shocked to hear the details. This horrendous event brought up a spirited discussion on our Edhat pages leading many of us to wonder about the safety our local schools. Our hearts go out to the families who lost their loved ones and as a country we mourn together.

Our Cat of the Week is Phidian, the feather toy killer and our Dog of the Week is Rocket, the adorable Aussie mix who is looking for a forever home. Marc Liberts takes a trip to New Jersey, the Urban Hikers wander through the middle of Montecito, and Poncho the Pooch gives advice for an uncooperative dog. This week David Powdrell wrote a very touching piece about our Edhat creator Peter Sklar. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Edhat and Peter's vision.

---- Edhat Stuff ----------------------------------

URBAN HIKE: The Urban Hikers wander the "middle" of Montecito and show you beautiful homes, historical sites, glorious gates, delightful details, a pedestrian pathway and more.

WINE: Marc Liberts showed off his wine knowledge to the local inhabitants of New Jersey.

POWDRELL: David Powdrell takes a moment to remember Peter Sklar, the elusive man behind Edhat.

CAT OF THE WEEK: Meet Phidian, the feather toy killer.

DOG OF THE WEEK: Meet Rocket, the adorable Aussie mix that's up for adoption!

Here is the Daily Edhat newsletter for 12/15/12
