My son from Goleta Valley Junior High (on the same campus) just got home and says that, contrary to this article, GVJH was also on lockdown, but only for about 5-10 minutes during 3rd period. Their lockdown was lifted at 11:36.

Thank goodness this man had enough good sense left in him to call the police on himself. I'm so glad nobody was hurt.

I'm glad to hear that 716. For anyone that doesn't know, these two schools are litteraly on the same property.

Police came by my home between 12-12:30 pm today. My neighbor called me and said two officers have your F250 truck surrounded out at the curb and they are looking in the truck and circling around by foot. They had their side search light pointed at my truck. I walked outside and asked them if everything was okay and they said rudely 'yes' and quickly got back into their car and sped away. I read KEYT report on Facebook and realized they must have been looking for this guy who may own a white truck? We live by GVJHS and SB Charter.

This is a story according to a SB charter middle school student. What happened was that goleta valley had a lock down DRILL. Since SB charter is on the same campus, they decided to have a lockdown drill too. Then a goleta valley student saw something misinterpreted as a threat, and called it in which resulted in the police response.
