Outstanding! We need more hikes within the "urban" areas.

Agreed! When I was a kid "hiking" meant finding secret paths past neighborhood back yards. Gerry's Sierra Club outings are like that all over again! These days, the world is far safer for kids by every actual measure than it was when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s. But you would never know that from the paranoia among parents. In the words of writer Lenore Skenazy we need more "Free Range Kids" again!

I'm not sure the Sierra Club is interested in "free range kids" - they are responsible for more wilderness access and use closures than any other organization. No thanks and I hope their members take off the rose colored jackboots they tread over everyone with.

@353673 So even when Sierra Club officials like Robert and Jerry say, and show by their behavior, that they are interested in something, you're not sure they are? I don't think that it's Sierra Club members that are wearing filters.
