Scanner Reports 12-12-12
updated: Dec 12, 2012, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

I knew that Peter was ill but I did not expect his passing to occur for some time, it was quite a shock to me. I feel like I've been hit by a bus. I'm totally scattered. I don't know what to say except I'm sorry for Sue, Nick, Zach, and Molly.

I lost two people that meant the world to me around the same time back in 2003 and 2004 they were two people I choose to spend my life with I thought we would have many more years together as friends. It was quite sudden within months of each other they were gone, and though I was still here I was only a shell. What little life I had disappeared for a long time. I expected that I too would have gone soon after my friends but I guess I wasn't wanted then I remembered the saying "Only the good die young." I was not quite as good as either of them.

The first time I met Peter was months after I started writing the Scanner Reports, I was standing in the driveway staring toward Milpas after putting a load of clothing in the washing machine. I saw a white 1962 Buick Special Station wagon go by North on Milpas, I don't run so good anymore but I ran down the driveway to get a glimpse of that old beautiful car once again but by the time I wobbled down there it was gone. I was really bummed I would never see that car again; I had never seen it before. I walked back up the driveway and back to what I was doing a few moments later this guy came up the driveway carrying a tray of Christmas cookies, he had an ear to ear smile across his face and I was sure he was either severely wacked, or looking for some donation for a church. He was actually looking for a guy named Roger Dodger; he introduced himself to me as Peter Sklar.

I didn't want to tell him I was Roger, his smile kinda freaked me out, I've always been kinda afraid of smiling people. Anyway I admitted to being Roger and we talked for a while I can't really remember about what cause I was focusing on the cookies. He told me he was parked around the corner so I walked him over to his car. His car was a 1962 White Buick Special Station wagon I was totally amazed he was truly one unique person. We were Blessed to have Peter Sklar with us for a short period of time here on Earth and though his physical being is gone, I believe we will continue to feel his presence for some time, as he did a lot for our community another Angel has been born in Heaven.

This person kept commenting that if I was going to report The News I better "Get it Right". Will I don't report The News I report what I hear on The Scanner that is not The News. Anyway I told them that I would not report what I hear in Santa Maria anymore but I lied. I will continue to report what I hear on The Scanner. If people want to listen to The News There are many places to view and listen to the news, AHHH HAAA, Thought I was going to do it again didn't you? Have a great Wednesday. Dog Willing I will see you on FRYday. Roger
