This is one of the most utterly absurd and obnoxious events of the year. I'm all for toys for disadvantage kids, but the noise and air pollution as well as the traffic nightmare that are a result of this event are disturbing. Keep the toys for kids get rid of the mid-life crisis folks playing mine is louder than yours.
I videoed it in its entirety coming up State. Total time was 5:40 including cops in front blocking traffic. So I'm so sorry some had to wait almost 6 minutes to cross the street.
3060... sure, get up a little earlier tomorrow and stay off the Internets for as long as your jonesing will allow. You'll be amazed how much time you'll get back! :-)
953... relax. I'm sure you take part in plenty of events that annoy other people. To your likely dismay, I took part in the ride again this year (and will keep doing so) on a quiet and efficient motorcycle. One of the very coolest things about the ride is to see all the people on the streets (from Summerland to Goleta) cheering for, and thanking, the riders for their contribution. If you haven't given lately, try it. And, by the way, it IS really impressive to see several hundred riders together.
