Please, where is Aberdeed? Is it SB, Carp., North County ? Or none of the above? This ambiguity when reporting an incident is frustrating.

714: Considering the spelling was incorrect, you might want to lay off on your rhetoric.

I agree with researching and verifying info one one's own. Usually, if you enter a misspelled street name into Google, it will still find it for you, especially if you put "santa barbara" after it. Rarely will you have to use "santa barbara county" as a search term. I'm a stickler for accuracy, but hey, the world is what it is, and very few people are spelling and grammar overseers -- like I could be and have been. I would correct it ASAP but not all posters can be online when their news or question is posted; there is a lag time. I'd rather have the news misspelled and research it if it was important to me than not have it at all, even thought it can make me growl sometimes with aggravation. (I also knew what the street name was as spelled.)

And then there are those wonderful editors, who fix things SO quickly! The best way to have this done is to email "Ed," rather than posting in the thread. I put the thread link in the body and use a self-explanatory subject line. Thanks Edhatitors! Ya'll rock!

Was going to respond to 730, but 732P did it for me :) 730, I believe you underestimate technology a bit.

Okay 753, then add Santa Barbara to the list. You can nitpick all you want, fact of the matter is it's lazy and annoying to complain about not knowing the location of a street, even if it's spelled wrong, in this day and age of technology. You're already on the internet reading the news, for goodness' sake! The ultimate in laziness...

@3572764 What lazier, submitting a sensational story to Edhat using the Internets without proofreading it first? Or complaining on the Internets about a post that was not proof read before posting?

Does anyone else wonder why a "medical emergency" required the assistance of 7 police cars?...is there more to this story than what was reported? I didn't even realize that the City of Goleta had a total of 7 police cars.

Hey Roger, welcome back. @787 ditto, 7 police cars? Medical emergency takes on New meaning with that total of law enforcement response. Now I'm really curious. Does anyone know what really did happen?

Roger often spells or gets street names wrong in his reports, and many of you think it's quaint and cute. The fact is that it can often lead to confusion.

It was only six cop cars. Both Goleta PD and Sheriff units (the SO is also Goleta PD). The "medical emergency" was a guy got tazed after attacking his wife, destroying his house, and leading cops on a chase thru the neighborhood. Scanners are cheap people...

They probably called the medics and fire after they realized what they were in for and had them stage until everything settled down. The person probably needed to go to the hospitasl for medical clearance prior to going to jail if indeed he was tazered.. @937 Scanners are not cheap people they are onyl cheap to people like you who probably do not understand the codes.. Roger keep up the good work..
