Technology is taking over, it's not a surprise, we saw it coming. There's a variety of applications on a variety of technological devices and one is more confusing than the next. The phone application our Teen Voice Columnist tackled this week is Instagram, a Twitter-esque styled app camera with different filters and a community of friends to view and comment. See the example photo which might often have the caption of, "My typical Saturday morning." What's the point of these applications you ask? We're not sure exactly. Perhaps it's to share little photo moments with friends and family, or perhaps it's to prove that we're pseudo-intellectuals with a taste for fine coffee. Today it's Instagram, tomorrow it might be an application of an 80's fax machine. Hey, that's a great idea!

Our Cat of the Week is Luna, the playful kitty celebrating her birthday and our Dog of the week is Zeus, the rescued mystery mix who may have an Ancient Greek descendent. Our Non-Profit of the Week is the Santa Barbara Beekeepers new program, Sweet Start that helps at-risk youth. Mark Liberts happily drinks up some Bordeaux varietals and The Indie Film Guru posts a holiday gift guide for cinephiles. David Powdrell shares an informational post discussing the warning signs of a stroke. Read all these and more below:
